Savatage – Dead Winter Dead (2LP)

Savatage’s great 1995 concept album Dead Winter Dead was undoubtedly an important album for Savatage, albeit a transitional one. “On ‘Dead Winter Dead’ we’ve completed the story we started on ‘Streets’ and continued to build on the counterpoint we provided on ‘Handful of Rain,'” says Paul O’Neill . “Dead Winter Dead” not only led to Jon Oliva taking a more active role in the band, but also laid the foundation for the internationally successful project “Trans-Siberian Orchestra” (TSO).

The LP re-release will be available as a 180g double LP on black vinyl and as a limited collector’s edition on red vinyl. Both editions are mastered for vinyl and contain a live bonus rarity with the song “The Storm – This Is The Time”, recorded in Neu-Isenburg in 1997. Both editions feature the original cover design and enhanced artwork, including a 16-page LP booklet. The limited collector’s edition also includes a replication of the 1996 European tour poster.
